The wonderful and amazing joy and sense of giving and sharing and building is definitely worth the pain, though I suspect all parents have moments of wishing to just be alone without all this responsibility.

And reviewing non-fiction, in my experience, is immensely time-consuming. At least if the book’s in your field and you know your peers are likely to read your review and judge you by it.
