In modern U.S., yes.  Perhaps not so much among other cultures of other times.  I think it&#039;s fair to claim of historians of most cultures, though.  =)</description>

		<description>This is a bit tangential, but since you mentioned Calvino -- I recently picked up a copy of his &lt;i&gt;The Castle of Crossed Destinies&lt;/i&gt;, and it includes a version of the story of Roland, &lt;i&gt;told using tarot cards&lt;/i&gt;. It&#039;s rather nifty.</description>
